Do I need a referral?
Most patients do not need a referral. Some insurance plans, such as TRICARE, do require one. While not always required, referrals are helpful.
Who will I see?
Initial visits are typically with our medical provider (FNP or PA). In this case, patients will see our Nurse Practitioner, Mandy. Dr. Kamran usually sees patients formally at the second visit, though he may stop in sooner to introduce himself and talk with you.
How many visits or treatments will I need?
This depends on insurance requirements and the patient’s condition. Some plans require conservative management before treatment. An ultrasound is performed to determine eligibility and guide care.
What if it’s not a vein issue?
We still evaluate and manage the patient’s care and refer them to the appropriate specialist if needed.
Will I be sedated? Can I drive?
All procedures are outpatient with local numbing only. Patients can drive themselves unless they take medication that affects driving. We provide written care instructions, which we're happy to share in advance or at the visit.
