Scarless Tattoo Removal Made Safe and Effective
Tattoo removal once meant gambling low odds of success on a high risk of scarring and pain. Tattoos are designed to last forever, but as more and more people seek reversal of these deeply embedded ink deposits, technology too has kept pace with improved methods of safety and efficacy. The most advanced technology comes in the form of Q-switched Nd:YAG lasers using PhotoAcoustic Technology which safely penetrate the skin and target each tattoo ink color with specific wavelengths, causing tattoos to gradually fade during a course of 5 to 15 treatment sessions.
RevLite: Ideal for Removing Black and Multi-colored Tattoos
Most lasers have at least two wavelengths to target dark blue, black and red inks. The RevLite features four wavelengths to target a wide range of colors, from blue, black and red, to orange and purple, and even difficult-to-treat green and sky blue.
What to Expect from Scarless Tattoo Removal
With the RevLite laser, you’re getting the most advanced technology to safely remove tattoos with maximum success and comfort. As the light energy gently vibrates and shatters the tattoo ink into easily eliminated micro-particles, the short pulses feel similar to snaps of small rubber bands, followed by a warm sensation. A temporary whitening will follow the first treatment; over time, the tattoo particles will fade through the lymphatic system and the skin will return to its natural color. Dark blue, black and red inks offer highest degree of success, followed by orange and purple; green and sky blue may require additional treatments for significant fading. Tattoo treatment ranges from 5 to 15 sessions.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can multi-colored tattoos be removed fully?
ConBio’s RevLite laser is the gold standard for tattoo removal and has four wavelengths to remove all colors of ink. Some colors however, are more difficult to remove such as sky blue and green and may require additional treatments. Additional factors like the type of ink, age of the tattoo, location on the body also impact removal.
How many treatments does it require?
On average, tattoos take between 5 and 15 treatments. Factors such as color, type of ink, skin color, location, and age of tattoo effect how many treatments you will need. When you come in for a consultation we can look at your tattoo and review all of this with you.
Will the tattoo lighten with one treatment?
One of the first three treatments will lighten the tattoo. Some people will see this after one treatment and for others it may take longer. Everyone responds differently.
If the tattoo looks healed can I come in before six weeks?
It takes four weeks for the body to start breaking down the ink and even though the tattoo may appear healed, it is not. The laser breaks the ink down into smaller pieces and then the body has to get rid of it. This process takes 4-6 weeks so getting treated sooner than that will not make the tattoo remove any quicker and can also put you at risk for scarring.
What are the limitations after treatment?
Limit the amount of physical activity that you do and sun exposure for the first 24 hours. If the body gets too over heated it can cause the tattoo to blister. Showers can be taken but only if they are luke warm and use mild soap.
Can I have just a piece of the tattoo removed?
Yes, the laser is accurate and can remove unwanted parts of tattoos.
Does the laser cause scarring?
Most of the time no, but 99% of avoiding scarring that is being compliant with aftercare instructions. If you are not compliant and develop a blister it could cause scarring.
How much does it cost?
The price of the treatments depends on the size of tattoo you are having treated. We will have to take a look at the tattoo to see the exact size of it because we do not charge for open space. Most people tend to overestimate the size of their tattoo.
Can I lighten the tattoo to have another one put on top?
Of course, depending on the colors of the tattoo we recommend have 3-5 treatments done to lighten it before having a cover up tattoo put on. You should wait six weeks between your last treatment and when you put on the new one.
Does it hurt? What should I expect it to feel like?
This procedure is slightly more uncomfortable than getting a tattoo, however it is very fast. Most treatments take between 25-60 seconds.
Will I blister and scab afterwards?
Blisters and scabs are normal. You should not pop or pick at them. If it is bothering you feel free to call us to come in and have it drained. If the blister pops on its own, keep the skin over it and cover with a healing ointment and gauze. This will promote healing and prevent scarring.
Does insurance cover it?
Sorry but insurance does not cover this procedure. We do have other payment options that we can discuss with you in the free consultation.
I got my tattoo one week ago. Can I have it removed right now?
Unfortunately no. You must wait six weeks after a tattoo has been put on to start the removal process.
